The boyfriend has returned from Texas, and we’re in the midst of preparations for heading back to school next week. So for the next two weeks or so, I may not get to post as often as I would like. To make up for this, this post will be AWESOME.
I found a recipe for Brazilian coffee and adapted it to make enough for 2-3 people. It’s quick and simple and the end result is delicious–it’s sweet and a little spicy. I’ve included both the hot and cold version of the drink here, so no matter what climate you’re in you can enjoy this drink!
- ¾ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 ½ cups water
- 2/3 cup strong brewed coffee
- 2 ½ tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/8 teaspoon salt
- ½ teaspoon cinnamon
- Whipped cream (optional)
Combine the coffee, sweetened condensed milk, and water in a 2-quart saucepan over medium heat. Slowly stir in the cocoa, salt, and cinnamon. Continue stirring constantly until coffee is thoroughly heated but not boiling. Enjoy hot with a dollop of whipped cream and a sprinkle of cinnamon, or refrigerate in a sealed container for 2 hours for use in a Brazilian Frappuccino.
- 1 cup chilled Brazilian coffee (see above)
- 1 cup ice
- Chocolate syrup, whipped cream (optional)
